Fergie Jenkins is a Hall of Fame pitcher.  He was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as a relief pitcher and then traded the following season to the Chicago Cubs.  Fergie Jenkins was the first Canadian and Chicago Cubs pitcher to win a Cy Young Award.  In addition, his 284 victories are the most by an African American pitcher in major league history.

Below is a look at some of Fergie Jenkins career accomplishments and highlights.

  • 3x All-Star
  • 1x Cy Young Award Winner
  • 3,192 career strikeouts

Fergie Jenkins’ rookie card is in the 1966 Topps set alongside fellow Hall of Famers Jim Palmer and Don Sutton.  Throughout the years, he has been fantastic to fans and signs TTM with a $40 donation.  I purchased a raw card on eBay and sent it in a bubble mailer with a blue sharpie.  It came back in about a week and he included an autographed 4×6 photo.
