Charlie Joiner is a Hall of Fame wide receiver.  He was drafted by the Houston Oilers in the 4th round of the 1969 NFL Draft.  He began his career as a defensive back but made the switch to wide receiver during his rookie season after being injured from a hit by Floyd Little of the Denver Broncos.  Charlie Joiner experienced the most success as part of the San Diego Chargers’ high flying “Air Coryell” offense.  As a member of the Chargers, he exceeded 1,000 yards receiving in a season four times on his way to three Pro Bowl appearances.

Below is a look at some of Charlie Joiner’s career accomplishments and highlights.

  • 3x Pro Bowl
  • 1x All-Pro

Charlie Joiner’s rookie card is in the 1972 Topps set alongside fellow Hall of Famers Ted Hendricks, Roger Staubach and Larry Little.  Throughout the years, he has been great to fans and quickly responds to fan mail with donation.  I purchased a raw card on eBay and sent it in a plain white envelope along with $5.  The card turned out perfectly with all of the inscriptions that I requested.
