Shawn Kemp is a former NBA All-Star power forward.  He was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics with the 17th pick in the 1989 NBA Draft.  Shawn Kemp was an athletic player, who is best remembered for his powerful and acrobatic dunks.  The peak of his career was during the 1995-96 season when he and Gary Payton led the SuperSonics to a franchise-record 64 wins.  Ultimately they lost to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Finals.  During the Finals, he averaged 23.3 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks a game and came a close second in the Finals MVP voting.

Below is a look at some of Shawn Kemp’s career accomplishments and highlights.

  • 6x All-Star
  • 3x All-NBA

Shawn Kemp’s rookie card is in the 1990 Fleer set alongside his former teammate and Hall of Famer Gary Payton.  Previously, I purchased a raw autographed card, slabbed it and sold it for a profit.  I really like the image on the card and decided to pick up another raw autographed card, this time with his Reign Man inscription.
