Joe Dumars is a Hall of Fame guard. He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 18th pick in the 1985 NBA Draft. He played his entire fourteen-year career with the team, during which he and Isiah Thomas combined to form one of the best backcourts in NBA history. He was a dominant defender, earning praise from Michael Jordan as the toughest defender he ever faced. Although he was a member of the famed “Bad Boys”, he was known for his quiet and professional behavior. Joe Dumars was the first recipient of the NBA Sportsmanship Award which as since been renamed after him.
