Brooks Robinson is a Hall of Fame player who is widely considered as one of the greatest third basemen of all-time.  He was signed by the Baltimore Orioles as an amateur free agent in 1955.  Brooks Robinson played his entire 23 year MLB career for the Orioles, which is tied with Carl Yastrzemski for the longest career spent with a single team.  Despite being a natural left-hander, he batted and threw with his right-hand.  Nicknamed “The Human Vacuum Cleaner”, Brooks Robinson is considered by many to be the greatest defensive third baseman in MLB history.

Below is a look at some of Brooks Robinson’s career accomplishments and highlights.

  • 18x All-Star
  • 16x Gold Glove
  • 2x World Series Champion
  • 1x World Series MVP
  • 1x MVP

Brooks Robinson’s rookie card is in the 1957 Topps set alongside fellow Hall of Famers Frank Robinson, Bill Mazeroski and Don Drysdale.  Over the years, he has been amazing to his fans and has consistently signed fan mail with a donation.  I have been fortunate to get him a couple of times but wanted to upgrade to a rookie card before it was too late.  I purchased a PSA 2 and cracked it open and sent it in to a paid signing so I would increase my chances of getting a flawless autograph.  Mr. Robinson did not disappoint, this card turned out perfectly.
