Clinton Portis is a former Pro Bowl running back.  He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 2nd round of the 2002 NFL Draft.  After winning the National Championship with the Miami Hurricanes, he went on to rush for over 1,500 years on his way to winning the Rookie of the Year award.  He averaged nearly 1,500 rushing yards per season before getting injured in his fifth season.  He bounced back the following two seasons as he had over 1,300 rushing yards before injuries ended his career early.  Despite retiring before he turned 30, Clinton Portis finished his career with nearly 10,000 rushing yards and 75 touchdowns.

Below is a look at some of Clinton Portis’ career accomplishments and highlights.

  • 2x Pro Bowl
  • Offensive Rookie of the Year

Clinton Portis’s preferred rookie card is in the 2002 Topps Chrome set alongside Dwight Freeney and Ed Reed.  I purchased a Bowman Chrome Refractor because I liked the design better.  I sent it into a paid signing along with an ultramarine paint pen and the card turned out awesome.
